Den of Greece is a multi-genre inspired rock band formed in December of 2016 out of South Lyon, MI. Dedicated to creating a life out of their passion, the band members write their music to provoke emotion from people of all ages. With intricate drum styles, passionate guitar solos and uniquely, melodic bass composition, Den of Greece has made their footprint in the Michigan music scene, performing shows at many local venues.
Their talent was first heard on stage at the Phoenix Cafe in Hazel Park, Michigan. This performance landed them many more gigs, including Harpos Concert Theatre, The Blind Pig, Hot Rock Sports Bar & Music Cafe (aka The Ritz), The Token Lounge and others.
Their first major recognition as a professional rock band happened NYE 2017 when they won “Battle of the Bands,” produced by MRB Inc. This accomplishment awarded them studio time at Zoinga Recording in Royal Oak, Michigan, which launched them into their second album.
Original members, Nick Grucz and Joe Bida, met through mutual friends in October of 2016. Their immediate friendship grew fast, and with a lot of hard work and collaboration, they conjured the framework of their young band’s aspiration. Upon recruiting Grucz’s friend, Nick Rautenberg, ... Den of Greece was born.
Their debut album was released in February of 2018, self-titled, “Den of Greece.” The album was a by-product of their feelings toward society and identifying problems ‘in and out of their control.’
While Nick Rautenberg is pursuing other career opportunities and is no longer drumming with the band, he will always be respected as an integral part of creating Den of Greece. Gordon Keevis, former drummer of the band “Hung Up,” joined Grucz and Bida in March 2018 to continue the vision of success for the band.
Den of Greece is currently producing their second album which focuses more directly on the conflicts of human nature. You can follow them on Facebook to stay up to date on all upcoming shows and events.
